Utoy Cemetery Open House Event

As part of the Atlanta Preservation Society “Phoenix Flies” Event,
Terry White, historian, will present a lecture titled “Atlanta’s Beginnings, the Civil War Battle of Utoy Creek, & the Utoy Church and Cemetery,” from approximately 2:00-3:00 pm
Individual guided tours will be led by Association members throughout the Open House event. These individual tours can include an extensive amount of walking, for those individuals wanting guided tours.
Parking is available within the fence and gated driveway of the cemetery property, and/or along Cahaba Drive SW, facing the cemetery.
Handicapped individuals can drive to benches and/or lawn chairs at the Utoy Cemetery.
Reservations are not required.
MISSION STATEMENT: Maintain and promote Atlanta’s Historic Utoy Cemetery, listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, as an educational, historic, and cultural resource for the City of Atlanta and surrounding community. Toward this end, we work closely with local government, civic, and community groups and organizations as we pursue our common and/or complementary interests.
